Download all twelve free Adobe-style apps and let Claude drive them

Every download link for the free Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, Lightroom, Acrobat, After Effects and InDesign rebuilds, plus Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD and audio, and how to connect Claude to them.

The short version

A small studio called ArtCraft has published twelve free, open source desktop apps that rebuild the software most of us pay for every month: Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Lightroom, Acrobat, After Effects and InDesign, plus Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD and Pro Tools. They call them the Crafting Apps. Each one is written from scratch in Rust, with no Adobe or Microsoft code, and each is licensed MIT or Apache-2.0, so you can use them for free, forever.

They were built with Claude. Across the twelve repos, about 4,000 of roughly 6,150 commits carry a "Co-Authored-By: Claude" line, mostly Claude Opus 5.5. A few hundred more came from people in the community and a small number from Codex. The first commits landed on September 30, 2026.
