Fix an AI voice pronunciation without breaking the sentence

How to prepare a pronunciation reference, choose a supported correction and check the name across different sentences.

The short version

A voice can sound natural and still say your product name incorrectly. Start by establishing the intended pronunciation, identify the correction route supported by the selected model, then test the name in several sentences.

ElevenLabs' current pronunciation guidance describes pronunciation dictionaries and Eleven v4-specific handling. The model supports alias and phoneme approaches and slash-delimited inline IPA. Do not assume older SSML phoneme or break examples apply to v4.

This guide uses a fictional name, Cedarwave, so you can practise without claiming a pronunciation for a real person. The workflow has not generated or validated audio in your account.
