Explore the AERIS-10 open source radar before you build it

The two versions, what the build involves, and how to run the radar dashboard in demo mode with no hardware.

The short version

AERIS-10 is an open source 10.5 GHz phased array radar. The schematics, circuit board files, parts lists, FPGA code, microcontroller firmware and Python software are all public on GitHub. It was created by Nawfal Motii.

•What it is: a real radar, not a kit. It steers its beam electronically, spins 360 degrees on a stepper motor, and processes signals on an FPGA.

•Who it's for: the README names researchers, drone developers and serious SDR hobbyists. This is an advanced electronics build.

•How to start: run the Python dashboard in demo mode on your own computer. It needs no hardware and costs nothing. Then read the schematics and parts lists before you decide on a build.

•The catch: the project is marked alpha, and transmitting radar at 10.5 GHz is regulated in most countries.
