BetterShot: record, edit and export a short Mac tutorial

A step-by-step setup guide with requirements, checks and common problems.

The short version

I would check macOS first, then make a ten-second test recording. BetterShot is a free screenshot and recording app with a built-in editor. It requires macOS 26 or newer. The steps below follow its official documentation and published demos; I haven't installed or independently tested it on a Mac.
