Use a ChatGPT Plan in a Participating App and Control Its Allowance
How to check an app's eligibility, review its permission requests and control its usage before starting work.
The short version
I separate two decisions: signing into a participating app with ChatGPT and allowing that app to use ChatGPT plan usage. Eligible Plus/Pro users can choose the second option without handing over an API key. First verify the app's eligibility and requested permissions. After a connected app appears in Usage settings, inspect its weekly cap before beginning work.
I have not independently connected or tested a participating app. The official help article supplies the sequence and limits; this guide provides a consent and usage worksheet. A per-app cap is part of your existing allowance, not extra capacity.
