Run your own free AI world server with Laya
Install Laya step by step and get your own free Jev-style world server running.
The short version
Laya is a free, open source decision model from Convai Innovations, released on September 18, 2026, three days after TypeSafe launched Jev. Like Jev, it doesn't write text. You give it a situation and a few typed questions (pick one of these options, score this from low to high, yes or no), and it answers all of them in a single pass with a probability for every option. The weights are Apache 2.0, so you can run it on your own machine and pay nothing per call.
What you need: Python 3.10 or newer on Windows, Mac or Linux. A graphics card helps but isn't required. On an Apple Silicon Mac there's a separate port, laya-mlx, that's the one playing Snake in the video.
