Mixamo LLM Mocap: turn a video into a Mixamo animation

A step-by-step setup guide with requirements, checks and common problems.

The short version

Mixamo LLM Mocap is a free, open source pipeline that turns a video of someone moving into a clean animation on any Mixamo character in Blender. No mocap suit and no hand keyframing. It works on filmed footage or AI-generated video, with one performer or two fighting each other, and every stage is a command line step, so an AI coding agent can run the whole loop for you.

•What you need: an NVIDIA GPU with about 8 GB of VRAM, Blender 5.1 or newer, Python with uv, git and ffmpeg, a free Mixamo account and a free SMPL-X research registration. Developed on Windows; the docs say Linux works too.

•What you get: a 30 fps animation keyed onto your Mixamo rig, plus a review video and fidelity numbers comparing it with the source.
