Pirate Face: download AI models by torrent, safely

Pirate Face turns open AI models from Hugging Face into torrents. While a model is on Hugging Face, you can download it from there as normal. If it ever gets pulled, anyone who still has a copy can keep sharing it through the torrent, so the model stays available.

•What it lists: only models whose licences allow sharing. The site indexes MIT and Apache-2.0 models, with two named exceptions (Kimi-K3 and one GLM-5.3 build). No closed models like GPT, Claude or Gemini are there, because their weights were never released.

•What it checks: Pirate Face records Hugging Face's SHA-256 fingerprint for each model file, where Hugging Face provides one. You compare your download against it, and a match means your file is identical to the original.
