REA: let your AI agent reverse engineer apps

How to install REA in one command, which apps it can read, and the exact prompts to use with Claude Code.

The short version

REA (Reverse Engineer Anything) is a free, MIT-licensed tool that gives your coding agent reverse-engineering tools. You point Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent at an app you don't have the source for. It opens the app, follows the code, shows you the evidence behind each conclusion, and then your agent can build its own version of the feature in your project.

•What you need: a Mac on macOS 12 or newer, or Ubuntu 24.04+, Fedora 41+ or 64-bit Arch Linux. Node.js 22.19+ or 24.11+. Hopper (setup can install it, and its demo works) or Ghidra 12.1.4 with a 64-bit JDK 21.

•What you get: a CLI plus an MCP server and a guided skill, wired into the agents you choose, so you can just ask in plain English.
